To view the PF Balance or passbook on the portal you need to have your account tagged with your Universal Account Number (UAN). You can download or print the passbook from the website.
Instead of the Unified Portal, users will now be able to access their PF passbooks on a different website run by the EPFO. The unified portal can, however, still be used for transaction services like transfers.
EPFO in a recent tweet highlighted the benefits of seeding your EFP account with Aadhaar number. The benefits include submitting claims directly to EPFO without employers' attestation, receiving monthly updates on the mobile number registered with your UAN and download e-passbook and checking your passbook balance and other details.

Step 1: The member passbook is available at http://epfindia.gov.in/site_en/
Step 2: To check e-Passbook/ Balance, Click on the e-passbook link.
Step 3: Enter the UAN, password and Captcha (Enter Text displayed in image)
Step 4: Click on the Member-ID for which you want to view the e-passbook and other details
The passbook facility is not available for members of establishments that are exempt under the EPF Scheme, 1952. If you still try to log in, you will get this message: "Passbook not available to this Member-id as this pertains to the exempted establishment (i.e. Trust). Requested to contact your employer."
Retirement fund body Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), which manages your EPF money, has introduced a new facility for its subscribers to link their UAN with Aadhaar online. "This, in turn, would facilitate the members, a better and speedy EPFO services," the retirement fund body says in a statement. EPFO has made this facility available at its website www.epfindia.gov.in.
