Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017

Himachal Pradesh Assembly Election is scheduled to be held on November 9, 2017. The counting of the votes will be done on December 18, 2017. The term of current Legislative Assembly ends on 7 January 2018. Since 2013, the Indian National Congress Party is in power with 36 seats. The lone opposition party is the Bharatiya Janata Party with 27 seats.

Communist Party of India (Marxist) has announced that it will field candidates on 30 out of the 68 assembly seats.The party had on October 9 released a list of 14 candidates for the elections. The list included names of the former mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Sanjay Chauhan and Singha, a former MLA.

The Indian National Congress party has released the final list of 68 candidates for the Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly elections.

The BJP has not announced the name of the chief ministerial candidate yet. Here is the list of the 68 candidates from BJP contesting in the upcoming polls in Himachal Pradesh.
