receptors in brain.

Once the symptoms of any panic disorders/ anxiety disorders / GAD / SAD
are diagnosed, doctors prescribe this capsule in low dosages. Initially 0.25mg
for three times per day is advisable, slowly this tablet dosage is increased
based on the patients reaction to the medicine. The dosage can be increased up
to 4mg per day given three times per day. Reassessment is needed regularly to
check the patient’s behavior. Slowly the
dosages are decreased, in the same order as it was increased. Suddenly stopping
the medicine causes various side effects which might be dangerous.
Regularly using this medicine for reducing our emotional anxiety can
make us addictive to these drugs.
How Xanax is addictive?
The drugs that are extremely habit forming come from the benzodiazepine
family. Xanax reduces the symptoms of the disorder in twenty minutes of
consumption of medicine; this effect remains as long as up to few hours. This
medicine is prescribed only for short period usage, as Xanax is addictive.
The Xanax produces soothing effect on the GABA brain receptors. Long
usage of the medicine causes few changes in the brain receptors, making the
receptors less reactive to the medicine. This makes the patient to take more
and more of this medicine dosage, to get the original effects. Thus drugs like Xanax
is addictive. Also patients become too much dependent on it, as
withdrawal of the medication causes side effects, which can be fatal.
Therefore this medicine must be given under doctor’s advice, also
stopped by doctor’s advice.
